ELBRA DESIGN STUDIO / THE TEAM

Three designers.
One studio.

John Araujo, Chevy Weingarten and Edgar Alves bring interior and product design into the same conversation. Together with the ELBRA atelier, the team connects the room, the furniture and the details that make them work.

Interior designer

John Araujo

A room begins with a line.

For John Araujo, a piece begins with the line it draws in a room: a curve, a proportion, the meeting of two materials. Giving that idea a physical form asks as much of the maker as it does of the designer.

His design perspective connects interiors and furniture, considering the composition of a room alongside the character of each piece. Working with the ELBRA atelier carries that intent from the first drawing to the finished detail.

Interior designer

Chevy Weingarten

Rooms shaped around everyday life.

Chevy Weingarten is an interior designer, working with the layout, materials and furniture that shape a room. Her role brings the wider composition into focus: how a space is used, how it feels and how its elements sit together.

Within ELBRA Design Studio, that work connects interior concepts with furniture selection and the details of the finished space, keeping comfort and everyday use in view.

Product designer

Edgar Alves

From a line to a piece of furniture.

Edgar Alves is a product designer, focused on the objects that give an interior its character. His work considers form, proportion and function together, from the overall silhouette of a piece to the points where materials meet.

Within the studio, he develops furniture concepts in conversation with the ELBRA atelier, connecting design intent with construction, materials and the way a piece will be used.

Where design
takes shape.

ELBRA brings design development and furniture making together in Portugal. From the first drawings to the finished piece, the studio and atelier share a close attention to proportion, materials and the way a room will be lived in.

Experience in joinery, upholstery and finishing turns those ideas into furniture made to order. Each project connects the space, the piece and the details that make them work together.
